Quick Summary of the News
Faithlife is making the hard decision to discontinue several products such as Faithlife Sites, the Faithlife Mobile Apps, and Faithlife Live Streaming.
This will take effect on June 30th, 2023.
Is Faithlife Proclaim being Discontinued?
No. I read through the entire post and there is absolutely no indication they are making any changes to Proclaim – especially negative ones.
Why are they making these changes?
It’s easy for us to jump to the wrong conclusions when businesses say they are discontinuing products. However, in this case, I think that Faithlife is wanting to dedicate more resources to the cornerstone products they have such as Logos Bible Software and Faithlife Proclaim.
If I had to take a guess, churches weren’t using the website builder or live streaming builder enough to make it worth Faithlife to continue supporting.
We have to also consider that there are many options for building a website out there – of which a church could take advantage. Not to mention many options that are geared toward churches. With that in mind, I think this is actually a positive change for anyone who uses Logos or Proclaim as it means more resources will be directed toward them vs. being split across a large number of products.
If you are one of the affected customers, I will be putting out several resources in the coming days and weeks to try to offer alternative solutions. Both for livestreaming and for church websites.
